Abstract: The present research deals with the mathematical object: geometric vector, or simply&#xD;
vector, as a tool to contribute to the construction of the mathematical content of the&#xD;
high school. The contents of vectors is easy to understand and extremely important to&#xD;
helper for solving mathematical problems in plane geometry, analytical geometry, physics,&#xD;
etc. We seek to enable the use of vectors in math class in high school, improving the&#xD;
visualization of certain mathematical content. We will try to emphasize the use of vectors&#xD;
as being, at the same time, alternative and complement to the synthetic methods and&#xD;
Cartesian, facilitating some results as: three-point alignment condition, straight equation,&#xD;
parallelogram area, among other applications that the vectors may assist. We contribute&#xD;
as well, with a proposal for introduction of this content in high school from the first grade&#xD;
with the purpose of being built as well, a job that could guide professionals in the area&#xD;
of mathematics to work this mathematical object using it in the classroom, which will&#xD;
facilitate the student comprehension of the problems and math content.

Abstract: This work deals with the study of the Pappus-Guldin Theorems for calculating the area of&#xD;
revolution of surfaces and volumes of solids of revolution. For this, the denitions of center&#xD;
of gravity of polygonals, surfaces of revolution and solids of revolution are presented. The&#xD;
classic formulas for calculating areas and volumes of solids of revolution are presented and&#xD;
demonstrated. The equivalence of the classical formulas and the formulas presented by&#xD;
the Pappus-Guldin theorems is made. In addition, a brief historical account of Pappus of&#xD;
Alexandria and Paul Guldin is given. Finally, we present a proposal for a short course at&#xD;
the public school CEJA Artur Furtado.

Abstract: This work deals with Financial Mathematics (MF) and was prepared with the aim of&#xD;
improving its teaching in Basic Education. Based on bibliographical research and decades&#xD;
of experience with the subject’s degree, we organized a didactic sequence of MF contents,&#xD;
focusing on High School, aiming to contribute to the construction of citizenship. We&#xD;
look for different approaches, connected to reality, to other mathematical content and&#xD;
from different areas of knowledge. We start by contextualizing FM under several aspects&#xD;
and introducing basic concepts, and then we present its consequences. The foundation&#xD;
for this construction of knowledge lies in the concepts of progressions and functions.&#xD;
Every exhibition is accompanied by figures and examples. First, we analyze the subjects&#xD;
arithmetically and algebraically. Later, examples are taken up in the technological context&#xD;
of HP12c and Excel. Finally, we suggest some activities to be developed in the classroom&#xD;
and make our final considerations.

Abstract: This work brings a small survey on the first cataloging of knowledge about geometry that&#xD;
dictated the rules for over 2000 years written in a book entitled The Elements written by&#xD;
Euclid of Alexandria. Later came the mathematicians who took the first steps towards&#xD;
the discovery of a ’new geometry’, Saccheri and Lambert, until reaching the&#xD;
mathematicianswhodevelopedageometrycalledhyperbolicgeometry,Gauss,János Bolyai&#xD;
and Lobachevski, and further on the other side Of the new geometry developed the&#xD;
elliptical geometry, created by a disciple of Gauss called Georg Friedrich Bernhard&#xD;
Riemann. It is worth mentioning that this work comes a language where the student can&#xD;
read and understand clearly and accurately.
