Abstract: The present research deals with the mathematical object: geometric vector, or simply
vector, as a tool to contribute to the construction of the mathematical content of the
high school. The contents of vectors is easy to understand and extremely important to
helper for solving mathematical problems in plane geometry, analytical geometry, physics,
etc. We seek to enable the use of vectors in math class in high school, improving the
visualization of certain mathematical content. We will try to emphasize the use of vectors
as being, at the same time, alternative and complement to the synthetic methods and
Cartesian, facilitating some results as: three-point alignment condition, straight equation,
parallelogram area, among other applications that the vectors may assist. We contribute
as well, with a proposal for introduction of this content in high school from the first grade
with the purpose of being built as well, a job that could guide professionals in the area
of mathematics to work this mathematical object using it in the classroom, which will
facilitate the student comprehension of the problems and math content.

Abstract: This work deals with the study of the Pappus-Guldin Theorems for calculating the area of
revolution of surfaces and volumes of solids of revolution. For this, the denitions of center
of gravity of polygonals, surfaces of revolution and solids of revolution are presented. The
classic formulas for calculating areas and volumes of solids of revolution are presented and
demonstrated. The equivalence of the classical formulas and the formulas presented by
the Pappus-Guldin theorems is made. In addition, a brief historical account of Pappus of
Alexandria and Paul Guldin is given. Finally, we present a proposal for a short course at
the public school CEJA Artur Furtado.

Abstract: This work deals with Financial Mathematics (MF) and was prepared with the aim of
improving its teaching in Basic Education. Based on bibliographical research and decades
of experience with the subject’s degree, we organized a didactic sequence of MF contents,
focusing on High School, aiming to contribute to the construction of citizenship. We
look for different approaches, connected to reality, to other mathematical content and
from different areas of knowledge. We start by contextualizing FM under several aspects
and introducing basic concepts, and then we present its consequences. The foundation
for this construction of knowledge lies in the concepts of progressions and functions.
Every exhibition is accompanied by figures and examples. First, we analyze the subjects
arithmetically and algebraically. Later, examples are taken up in the technological context
of HP12c and Excel. Finally, we suggest some activities to be developed in the classroom
and make our final considerations.

Abstract: This work brings a small survey on the first cataloging of knowledge about geometry that
dictated the rules for over 2000 years written in a book entitled The Elements written by
Euclid of Alexandria. Later came the mathematicians who took the first steps towards
the discovery of a ’new geometry’, Saccheri and Lambert, until reaching the
mathematicianswhodevelopedageometrycalledhyperbolicgeometry,Gauss,János Bolyai
and Lobachevski, and further on the other side Of the new geometry developed the
elliptical geometry, created by a disciple of Gauss called Georg Friedrich Bernhard
Riemann. It is worth mentioning that this work comes a language where the student can
read and understand clearly and accurately.
